Universal Auto Service is a family-owned and operated auto repair shop serving Inglewood area drivers since 1992. In 1991, owner Alfonso Gonzalez left his regular day job as an auto mechanic to work on cars at home. Just having a couple of customers a day helped him cover the bills and pay for his recently purchased home. By the next year, however, he had so many customers he was able to open an official licensed auto repair facility in the city of Hawthorne, CA. Over the next five years, the shop grew from one bay to three bays in a 1,500 square foot facility. Needing more room, Alfonso moved Universal Auto Service to a 2,500 square foot shop in Inglewood, CA. Ten years later, the shop moved to 1129 S. La Brea in Inglewood, a lot with over 10,000 square feet. Now with plenty of space and four employees, Universal Auto Service continues to offer great prices for auto repair and maintenance as well as awesome customer service.
