Gil's Garage - Burnt Hills

"Gil's installed a hitch on my vehicle recently. I found scheduling an appointment easy and they were able to complete the work within the same week. I dropped the vehicle off the day before the installation date and picked it up the following day. The staff are professional and courteous and overall I had a great experience with them. I am also very satisfied with the quality of the installation of the hitch on the minivan."

"I’m sure that this mechanic does good work, but they are extremely over priced. I brought my car in for a radiator coolant leak, they quoted the repairs at $1,400 - ~250 for one pump and whatever the cost of a hose was. They also quoted roughly 3 hours to change one hose. Giving them generously 5 hours to change one pump and a hose, that’s over $200/hour for labor. I took my car with the same issues to the dealership and they are fixing it for ~$800. I personally will never use their services again. Not only did they over quote me by at least $500, they also charged me $130 to just diagnose the problem. If you’re looking for a fair priced, honest mechanic, I would look somewhere else, personally. But again, I’m sure they do good work, even at their prices. Edit: the owner called me and tried to make it right. He refunded the price of my diagnostic, and made an effort to understand what happened."
