"(*UPDATE: Scott finally called to discuss this issue. I was certain he was reaching out to make sure I was taken care of as an important customer. WRONG! He simply wanted to be very clear that they did nothing wrong and all the blame for the miscommunication was obviously on me. That kind of arrogance just cost FAMILY Auto (extremely proud of their customer service, by the way) a customer with five vehicles to maintain!)
I dropped off my car for an oil change at 1:00 PM. My check engine light was also on. I did not receive a call that day. I did not receive a call the next morning. I picked up the phone and called to get an update myself around 11:00 AM. Scott simply said my car was being driven around and he would call after lunch. They called at 2:40 PM saying it was ready. They charged me $100 to scan the car (a free service at every auto part store) and $70 for a new gas cap that was causing the light to come on (something I did not approve nor was I even aware of them going forward until picking up the car).
Be aware a simple oil change can wind up costing $240 at this place with ZERO explanation or communication. I will only consider returning/recommending again if I am offered a full refund which is disappointing because I had been happy with previous visits."
