"Did not have a good experience. I had my transmission fluid checked, and I drove away. The next morning I was driving my child to school. I heard a loud banging sound, and noticed what look liked steam coming from my hood. Well turned out that they didn't put my transmission cap back on. It got caught by the fan and punctured my radiator. So....not a good experience."

"Lengthy review but I wanted to give precise details of MY visit. Had an issue that I believed to be a slipping transmission. Found Cottman through online search. Took car in the 1st time. I was told the problem was (2) bad sensors and repair would run $700+. Ran fine for 2-3 weeks. Experienced the same issue. Called Cottman. Told to bring vehicle back in. I was told that (1) of the sensors that had been replaced was a 'dud' from the auto parts supplier. Sensor was replaced at no cost. 2 days later. Experienced the same issue except with more frequency. Dropped off vehicle (Sunday). Called on Monday - still checking it. Called Tuesday -- still checking and waiting on a 'tester' to check vehicle computer. Called Wednesday and was told that they had tested the computer and gotten errors showing the issue was with the computer in the vehicle and that I would have to take the vehicle to the Nissan dealer to have it repaired. I took vehicle to Nissan. After quick but thorough inspection, they determined the problem to be from the use of aftermarket replacement sensors. They replaced with genuine Nissan parts and vehicle is working 1+ month later. The cost of the dealership repair bill was only slightly more than 1/2 of what Cottman charged. I called Cottman to state my dissatisfaction with 1) having to bring the vehicle in (3) times for the same issue; 2) being told that results from testing pointed to a bad (and really expensive to replace) computer; 3) being told after the 2nd visit that the part used was a 'dud'; and 4) the cost of repair being approximately twice what the dealership charged and the issue still not being fixed. I was told by the store manager that he would check with his boss to see what could be done. You will notice that there is no reply from Owner in this review because that is the same response that I received from my call. The office manager was very courteous and friendly but at the end of the day, MY experience was 3 trips for a problem that was NOT fixed; misdiagnosis; questionable parts; and being charged twice what the dealership charged to actually fix the problem. UPDATE -- 11/10/2017 I received a reply email from the GM of Cottman that said she was reviewing the events in my post and would be in contact. The shop manager called and asked what could be done to make the experience right. I stated that my post did not ask for anything to which he acknowledged that fact and asked again what could be done. I mentioned the remaining balance left on the repair invoice and Cottman agreed to issue a check for the remaining balance in full. I have since received the reimbursement and consider the experience completed and appreciate the efforts made to remedy the situation."
