Rebuilt Transmission (most vehicles): NOTE: Cars, trucks & vans with a manufacturer's rated capacity of one ton and under receive a 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty. EXCEPTIONS: vehicles with manual transmissions, vehicles over one ton, RV's, police/fire/emergency vehicles, vehicles used as/for rentals, taxis, limousine, snow plowing, commercial towing or "high rail" applications (modified for use on RR tracks). These exception type vehicles receive a 12/12 (US) or 12/20 (Canada) warranty. You can identify the carrying capacity by the VIN. On domestic vehicles, the vehicle is eligible for the 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty if the 6th digit of the VIN is 3 or less.

"Worse experience and still going through it. I had a new transmission in 2016 from AAMCO in Clifton and is under warrantee. I just got my truck back from the dealer and was told it sounds like a transmission problem. October 2017, I came to AAMCO in Clifton NJ to check my transmission because it was not shifting into next gear. I spoke with Cecil and he said it sounded like my transmission. I feel that I made a mistake by telling him it was under warrantee. Cecil told me to bring it in to be checked. Adam and Cecil told me it was the engine. My engine! That did not sound right to me so I came to pick up my vehicle the same day. AAMCO had closed for the day and I found my battery dead, engine cover missing and a rag left on the engine (which I have pictures). My Gmc ran much worse shutting off and smoking which it never did before. Had to bring it back the next day 10/7/2017. I asked Cecil what they did to my truck to make it worse, it was only to be checked. Both Cecil an Adam told me again it needs a new engine. Adam told me a new engine comes with everything new. Cecil and Adam also told me that I would not have any additional charges. Adam opened up 2 AAMCO credit cards and added the charge for a new engine. Adam stated everything in the old engine cannot be used. After 2 weeks I was told the new engine comes without parts. I would have to pay a lot more for parts. On the 10 day inspection I was told that the squeaking noise is from a bad belt tensioner, need a new belt and oil leaking from the transfer case. Advise them new transmission last year and all leaks was fixed and truck was still under warrantee. Cecil the Adam told me they checked the records from last year and it was not done. I asked who was the manager and Cecil to me Adam and Adam told me Cecil. These are the games that this facility plays. I showed them my paper work and was told it was not covered. Stuck with another big bill again. My truck was leaking fluids, belt squeaking and more charges with every visit. I called several times to work out the dispute but Adam would not take my calls. After charging me again for repairs I also advised Adam that I smell antifreeze. Adam and Cecil told me no leaks or coolant problems. I do not want to bring my vehicle back to AAMCO anymore. They do not own up to any mistakes and keep charging me. Adam finally confessed that he was the manager after going there early Saturday morning. I waited to see Adam and he had other customers looking at him. So Adam decide to come clean and admit that he is the manager. Once again Adam refused to work with me about the charges on the credit card. I advise Adam that I would dispute the extra charges and miss information. After 11/06/2017 Adam would not reach an agreement with me over the excessive charges. I advise Adam that I would dispute the extra charges and miss information. Adam would not work with me about the extra charges after I made several attempts. While trying to work out the excessive charges no review was giving. I was afraid of retaliation from AAMCO in case I had to bring the vehicle back. Now my dispute is over and the credit card company ruled in my favor. My truck coolant fluid did have a problem that AAMCO screwed up. I took my vehicle to the dealer to be fixed. Another bill but the peace of mind that it was fix correctly. I got a call a few weeks later about my vehicle warrantee in jeopardy due to my dispute. Never, never bring your vehicle to AAMCO in Clifton NJ. Worse experience ever. Fritz,"

"I went to this place to get the transmission leak fixed for my car, previously a mechanic told me to change my cars transmission which would have costed me $ 2,000 dollars. My last choice was aamco. After aamco tested my car they found a rubber seal was broken and they were able to fix it. Two days after I saw transmission fluid and I decided to visit them. Adam was very helpful he found a small pipe where the leak was coming from, and he was able to fix it. After words I did not experience any leaks in my car. Aamco saved me from spending $ 2,000 dollars on a transmission. Aamco might be expensive, but they give you the correct information."
