"I recently had the pleasure of reacquainting myself with Ray (the owner of TLC) and his son. TLC is a rare breed of auto repair shop. Not only are they highly competent across a broad range of vehicles & repair issues , they are also extremely honest, and price their work fairly. The fact they have been in business for some 30 years or so pretty much says it all. If you're new to the area and need a great mechanic you would be very hard pressed to find a better shop than TLC."
"I had a similar experience Just like someone mentioned on this review thread minus the racial discrimination. Initial visit they were helpful and there were no issues, good enough to have me come back again with the vehicle to follow up with another issue and one we chose not to resolve. Even though they mentioned they would have no problem working on the car and the issue at hand, when we brought the car back we were met with immediate attitude on the lot from the owners son saying that they don’t have the proper tools because of money and they don’t usually fix these problems even though it was nothing serious, as if bringing him back my business was inconvienet for them. While I was outside on the phone, my girlfriend, the owner of the vehicle, went inside to discuss what was wrong, how much it may be, etc. I walked into the office to find the owner and his wife talking down with a condescending attitude towards her for no good reason. They spoke to us like we were stupid and knew nothing. They told us assertively it wouldn’t be able to be fixed that day even though we didn’t ask nor did we expect it to! We had all the patience, I told him we were in no rush but only after they assumed that was an issue. Irrational attitudes, it never was. I’ve worked in the auto industry for 10 years, I’m just not a mechanic myself. No respect whatsoever for the customer. Never thought bringing someone an opportunity to earn business would be met with such ignorance. No apologies, no attempt to try to resolve the issue. As someone who works in the automotive industry and has for years, I highly recommend not to use this company. Here the customer does not come first and never will. Very unhappy people."
"I am writing in response to Joe T's review as he has left out many important facts in it. First he likes to start out about racial discrimination when there clearly was no discrimination. It appears that he is looking to cause trouble and making the business look bad to favour his review. He originally brought his girlfriend's car, a 2007 Volvo S60 to TLC on 5/10/18 . Someone apparently had done a poor brake job on said vehicle causing the emergency brake shoes to brake up inside the left rear wheel. This caused the wheels to lock up, thus the reason for them bringing the car to TLC. We had worked up a quote to have the job done correctly, but Joe T & Emma Doty, owner of the vehicle declined to have the work done at this time due to not being able to afford the work. It was for a L Knuckle ( left rear and e-brake hardware). They stated that they would have to bring the car back once Emma Doty had saved to have the work done, bringing us to 7/20/18. Emma Doty had her car towed to TLC at 4:30 in the day and not calling to say that she was having it towed in. Ray and his sons were trying to finish up the last jobs to have them ready for pickup at 5:30. The tool in which Joe T claims that we did not have to do the job was actually a dolly in order to remove the car from the tow truck as the brakes once again had locked up! We would not need to have a dolly and this would be something that the tow company should have. Ray discussed withJoe T and Emma Doty that they were bringing the vehicle late in the day and on a Friday that he would not be able to work on it until the following week. Emma Doty proceeded to argue with Joe T that she wanted to tow the car to another shop while I was writing up her ticket. Joe T forgets to mention that his girlfriend used the F word on me and that is when I would no longer wait on her. Joe T wanted to keep the car at TLC to have the work done but his girlfriend won out and called the tow truck driver to come back for the vehicle. It also seemed to please her that her vehicle was blocking our customers cars that were being picked up. She stayed that car will move when it gets moved! NICE!! Two sides to every story"
