"if you are on a budget do not bring your car here for an inspection without an $1800.00 bill before they pass you inspection on your car. This price includes a warranty which you don't request for. Specially if you are a single woman. No I did not inspect my car here if you are wondering. Did payed $34.99 for a failed inspection."
"Brought my 2005 Jeep Liberty in for repairs and to see if they could find the anti-freeze leak and they did. Pep Boys replaced the water pump and thermostat housing and thermostat.... when i got the bill i was shocked to see that the hourly rate was around 104 dollars. Also they added in a warranty for there labor ...not a free warranty but a 49 dollar warranty. Probably cause they don't trust there own work.... then on top of the high prices they add a 35 dollar shop charge... really i paid over 450 dollars in just labor you would think that would cover shop supplies!!! NEVER AGAIN will i ever go to Pep Boys for car repairs!!!"
"I've had up and down service from these guys for years with different cars. If you need diagnostic work done, go elsewhere... If you need parts and other over the counter purchases go for it."
"9 out of 10 times I come here I deal with complete idiots. I only came back because it's the only place my mom would pay to get my car fixed as a gift before I move. One of the times I asked them to check my engine because "check engine light" came on... The guy forgot to shut my battery off after he was done checking it, sure enough my car died sitting there. Your job is car's how do you forget to shut off the car/battery? Another time I came just for an oil change, took them over 24 hours to call me to let me know my car was done... Oil change doesn't take more than 45 minutes from what I was told nor should it be a guest responsibility to check in on when their car is ready to pick up. This time now I was talking to a manger who Interrupted me at least 3 times and seemed annoyed that I had to check on the status of my car that I had dropped off the night before and was told it would be started at 630AM... It is now 2PM.. Car won't be done till 8, when it was only 5 and half (let's say 6 hours to give them more time) job? Bullshit. Then when I ask why, the manager told me they worked on other cars before mine and that my mom and I both shouldn't be calling or dealing with it because it's too much of miscommunication. Mind you the manager who answered my call told me he just got there and didn't know what was going on and with his attitude didn't seem like he wanted to be bothered to know what was going on... Just that it was mine and my mothers fault for having to stay on their ass to actually follow through on their one and only thing, their job. I work in customer service, I have for the last 12 years never in my life would I talk to a paying or non paying guest the way this "manager" did or even handled the situation for that matter. For the general manager that works there you should be embarrassed that you have not only an employee like that but gave him the role as manager. There are only two people in that building that I have personally talked to over the phone or dealt with in person that not only have patience for when things go wrong like this (because it's life things go wrong) but actually follow through on what they say is Lee and Melissa, more people in that building need to learn from them or find new jobs. And if it weren't for those two individuals I would pay my mother money to stop giving this company her money/business."
"was there a few weeks ago to have my car looked at because of service engine light. 89 dollars and they will find out what is wrong with the vehicle as it states online well after 1 1/2 hours the guy comes out and tells me I have 4 codes, but they cannot find what is wrong with the vehicle and will require me to pay 300 to search longer for the issue. Hold on it says 89 dollars and we will let you know what is going on. I couldn't find anywhere on the website where it states a time frame. at least they didn't charge me the 89 either. I refused to pay that amount and then I was recommended to go to subaru. couple days later my turbocharger died from a clogged oil line! my warranty is not covering the charge and pep boys couldn't find the problem. Get better service techs. this wasn't the first time I have had an issue, but that will be the last time I go there."
"This is my 3rd time having Pepboy work on my car. I had my batteries replaced, a tire replaced, and my breaks done. I'm currently waiting for my breaks...."
