"They have a huge assortment of tools and supplies. I was looking for a lowerable 2" rear hitch so that I could carry a metal carrier and still open my rear door over it. Looked all over town and no one had one except Pep Boys. Here's why they are 5 stars:
I tried to pay for it with an old $50 Visa Debit Card. It was declined. The young clerk said it showed that it had a Zero balance.
I said "that's funny, I don't remember having used it".
I paid cash for the item and tossed the card into the trash can and left.
I drove off and almost immediately got a call from him that he "didn't feel good about it so he researched it a bit further".
Turns out that it was declined because it was never registered. It still had a $50 balance.
To make a long story short, I'm still richer after his generous tip. His research and honesty are comendable."

"Placed and paid order online. Website said store closes at 6pm. Received order ready for pickup notice at 1:50pm. Arrived at store at 5pm. Doors were locked. Knocked and gave order to cashier Matt and told him the website said they closed at 6pm. 3 customers were in the store. Matt said manager would not allow my pickup. I asked to speak with the manager and said I would not have placed the order if the website had said they closed at 5pm. Matt went and talked to the manager and said he wasn't allowed to use the register for any additional customers. I explained that the order was a prepaid pickup and asked to speak with the manager. Matt said the manager would not speak with me. I asked for the manager's name. Matt said the manager said he was not allowed to give me the manager's name. This back and forth continued for 25 minutes while the other customers selected their purchases, checked out, and left the store.
Since this was a prepaid pickup, this treatment was unacceptable. Plus, the manager not allowing Matt to tell me his name, seriously? I would recommend placing your orders for pickup from another store. Extra note: When I arrived there was another customer outside installing headlight bulbs he had just purchased minutes before. He realized they were the incorrect bulbs when I arrived and asked the cashier Matt at the door if he could swap them for the correct ones. Matt checked with the manager and was told no. The customer asked if he could please swap them since it was now dark and he had no working headlights to drive home. Once again the manager told Matt to tell him no. This is not the friendly service I am used to receiving at other Pep Boys stores over the past 30 years."
