"Friendly people but HIGHEST prices in town. We have lived a few blocks from Tire Pros for two years now, which meant convenient walking distance when we had car repairs. (We are a one vehicle family). Unfortunately, every repair has been over-priced compared to other shops in town, but due to convenience we continued going here. Then, we brought car in for a smog check and it failed due to the Catalytic Converter we had replaced a year ago no longer being acceptable for our make/model... (a horrible nightmare that is not Tire Pros fault). But, when we found a mechanic that could replace the CC for half the price, we took car there instead and returned to Tire Pros later in the day to have re-test done - but they were going to charge us AGAIN for another $60 smog test. WOW. When we called around to other star-certified smog centers, they all said they will do smog re-testing for FREE within a period of time. We are tired of Tire Pros astronomical prices and failure to bend for returning customers — they knew we had to unfairly fork out $500 to have ANOTHER Catalytic Converter replaced after only one year — they knew we had just paid $60 to them that morning for a smog check. And still, they insisted we would have to pay $55-$60 to have a retest that same day. (They said MAYBE they could give us $5 off but had not finalized that.)
We will now go across town to another friendly mechanic with very reasonable prices, and take an Uber home when we need repairs done. But it’s worth it when we will save so much money on the services."
