"Originally, things started out well. I was asked how did I come up with my repair list. Told him my wife got a courtesy check with specific recommendations. Appointment stated approx 5 hours and vehicle was finished within the time frame. I went to pick her up and was not told nor did I read about any issues. However, by the time I reached 450, she was shaking and felt as if I was driving a manual about to kill. I decided to keep driving home hoping that the new fluids just needed to run their course. By the time I got home, they were closed and I used the app to send a message. Pete called me twice the next day. Just bring it back or have it towed, if not safe to drive or if I wasn't comfortable. I told him I wanted to drive it more to see if it would work itself out and if not, I would bring it in on Sat. Well, the shakes didn't stop. Actually it got worse, as the remote start no longer works. So we, got up early Sat morning and dropped her off at or about btwn 0930 and 1000. Unfortunately Pete wasn't there so we explained the situation to Karen? (unsure of name). Apparently, since I dropped it off, it wasn't a high priority, as my wife had to call to get an update at or about 1500. I FINALLY rec'd a call at 1533 to inform me that my vehicle was ready to be picked up and that they close at 4! Why would you take so long to get her repaired considering she was dropped of before 1000. We were told that faulty or frayed wires were discovered during the initial repair, however they were not re-connected. More importantly, they were not annotated or discussed with me when I picked her up. Fortunately, whatever the issue was, it was FINALLY repaired. Since the shaking started before I got to 450, I am surprised that the tech didn't notice it. I am surprised that an apparent issue wasn't brought to my attention when I picked up the vehicle. I am surprised it took so long, if the issue was diagnosed properly (w/o documentation) initially. This is a one and done deal. I won't be returning for any additional work on any of my vehicles."
"I have been coming to this Meineke for car service since 2009 or 2010 and have had excellent car care and customer service. It is true that the Korean woman was a miserable miser towards customers, but never to me; she reminded me of the soup chef on Seinfeld: Come in, place your order, sit down and wait until you're called, no more questions. Funny thinking about it. It was always startling (and often times hard watching) her behave so horribly to a customer's question or concern about a price or work done on their car. BUT that has all changed! The Wicked Witch Is Gone!!! And there is a rainbow of Excellent Customer Service and Car Care. Seriously, Peter and Karyn and their team of mechanics are really good to their customers. They take your calls and answer all your questions; they take walk-ins and work to squeeze you into their sometimes tight schedule; they add coupons (I never had a coupon and yet they always give me their coupon discount for that week); they check your car WITHOUT CHARGING YOU and provide you with a list of the work (starting with the MOST IMPORTANT to the least important) that needs to be completed. They even let you know how long you can "try" to go before getting the work done. And they give you a fair price. I know this because I used to take my car to two other different, (Highly recommended by car services) car care centers and those cheating bastards would not only tell me something different their prices raised my blood pressure. One of them I had to request to speak to a manager because the worker wanted me to pay $100 just to look at my car, and the second car center ONLY looked over my car for free after I told him about the first two, but made it clear to me that they don't regularly do that, that it's a fee. I will continue bringing my vehicle to Peter and Karyn and their team because they are the BEST at taking care of me and my car (I need my car for my different jobs), and I'm not putting my baby in the hands of predators (hiking up prices, charging just to look over my car, telling me that I might have to leave it, or that it's an old car and nobody make them anymore). I'm done with madness and aggravation, so I come to my place of great service and customer care calm. Peter and Karyn and Team Meineke in New Carrollton, MD. Rock On Y'all!!!"
"After having my cars serviced at many places over the years, I’m glad I finally found New Carrollton Meineke. The service I receive is always fast, friendly, efficient and honest. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!"
"I've been coming to this shop for a long time and I understand the older reviews because of the Korean lady who owned/operated the shop, she was the WORST! To say she didn't care about customer service is an understatement, makes me wonder if she even knew what customer service was. She didn't like people (hated people might be a better way to put it) and you could tell by the way she talked to you, completely void of any empathy or niceness. Quality of work was also a reflection of her feelings toward her customers...why she ever went into business for herself is a mystery to me. You kinda have to like people to deal with them on a one-to-one basis. Now there is a new owner and a new team there and they have been great, and the service and work is done right. If i'm not working on my car then these guys are, they are the only ones I trust."
"I called to see if they can install an exhaust pipe using the part I had already purchased. They asked me to come in the next day to see if they could do it, they were able to install it with no problem. Service was great and the folks at the desk were very polite. I will have no problem bringing my vehicle back."
"I have to give this place 1 star. I called to have a set of coilover springs removed from old struts and put on new ones because I don't have a coil spring compressor. I was quoted at $60 each which is quite steep considering it's an on bench operation (I didn't even bring in my car, just the struts). When I get there I tell the guy what I want to have done, he goes back to the shop talks to a guy and tells me yeah it can be done for $80 each! I haggled a little and we finally settled on the difference at $70 each. I come back an hour later to pick them up and when I'm installing them I notice the bumper covers are on UPSIDE DOWN! So this place tried to charge me $160 for a 15-20min job, then did the job wrong! Now I have to go back, get them to do it right, and I want my $$ back. Considering labor rates for ASE certified techs in the DC area are roughly $85-$115/hr and this place worked all of 20min OFF VEHICLE..they're a definite ripoff!"
