"Their terrible diagnostic ended up ruining my brake system. I work long 6 day weeks most times so it is very hard to take my car into the shop. My car had been squeaking at random times so I took it into Auto Centric. They said my muffler had rotten away and was resting on my axle. This didn't make sense to me since my axle sits entirely under the axle and I could not see any wear marks where it was hitting. They changed the muffler... Now my car started making more sounds. When I could finally take my car back in they said the muffler they sold me was defective and replaced it, but the car kept making the squeaking sound it did before. Finally it started making a grinding sound when I braked. I took it to another shop and had to have the whole system replaced. If Auto Centric had just looked at my brakes they would have seen the squeaking was the brakes and replaced them before they wore down to bare metal. I probably did need a new muffler, but there is no excuse for missing the problem with the brakes on TWO separate inspections. Edit in response to manager: Your customer service was excellent, but would you give a restaurant with excellent service then puts dirt on your plate and calls it food a good review? The other shop who I will not name did not want to speak poorly of another mechanic. However, he did confirm that it would have been a very obvious problem had your mechanic taken the time to look at my brakes. The muffler being loose would have made a rattle sound and not a squeak. Any qualified mechanic should know that there would have been bare metal if there had been rubbing. I was prepared to wait at your shop, but your staff gave me the feeling like I should leave. There was no first test drive like you claimed. On the second time during the final test drive I did hear very high pitched squeaking on two occasions but your mechanic said he didn't hear it so I thought it must be in my head. Good customer service does not forgive such a glaring mistakes on the part of your mechanics, nor does it heal the hole in my wallet."
