"I cannot praise the people at this AAMCO more. They saved me $2000. I know I can trust them to have honest pricing and excellent service. I am so relieved I found people I can trust. Would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for reliable repairs. They even said if was unhappy with my repair they would credit it and do an additional repair."
"Tommy and his mechanics are intelligent, fast, and fair. I had a mysterious grinding noise for 2 months with my car and, after taking it to 4 mechanics, some twice, no one was able to identify the problem correctly, let alone fix it. I was told that my transmission would need to be replaced at a cost of $4000 by two other mechanics. After leaving it at AAMCO for an estimate, they adjusted a small issue with my transmission and, without me even asking, found the real cause of the noise - a worn engine mount. NO ONE ELSE even considered this problem but AAMCO found it and fixed it. I spent a fraction of the cost I expected to pay to rebuild/replace my transmission and felt extremely relieved that I didn't invest in such a serious repair when the problem was so simple and easy to fix. Take your car to AAMCO for ALL car issues, not just transmission problems. They have the talent and Tommy runs a solid business. They gained a repeat customer in me. Sep 2017 Update - I've been back to Tommy's AAMCO twice since my initial review and service is still top notch. In Feb 2017, they repaired a wheel bearing and gave me a tune-up. In Sep 2017, they resolved an issue with the lock/latch on my SUV's hatch door that was previously stuck. Always friendly and generous, Tommy and his guys diagnose problems quickly, provide honest opinions, and do high quality work at an excellent price."
"My Toyota Camry is only two years old with less than 15,000 miles. I was coming back from Cleveland four weeks ago and every time I would slow down on the highway my car would start jerking. I was really concerned so I took my car to the dealership where I bought it and told them the problem I was having. They said there was a problem with my transmission, but the service required wasn’t covered under my warranty agreement. I ended up paying the dealership $2,500 to fix my car that had less than 15,000 miles on it. Two days later my car was jerking again while driving on the highway and slowing down. So I went back to the dealership and told them that they didn’t fix the problem. I was very angry. I said if they didn’t fix the problem, I wanted my money back. They kept my car for a day and gave me a loaner. When I went to pick up my car, they told me that they checked my car thoroughly and there was nothing wrong with it. Well, on the way home, you guessed it, my car started jerking again. I called a friend of my mine and told him my story. He suggested I go to see his mechanic, Tommy, at Aamco Transmission in Falls Church. It was out of my way, but I was frustrated and desperate, I just wanted to get my car fixed. I left my car at the Aamco shop and Tommy called later that afternoon. He said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my transmission. He couldn’t see where the dealership did any work worth $2,500 on my car. He did find that the fuel lines were a little loose and had them tightened. He charged me a very small fee for his service. I’ve been driving my car now for two weeks and it runs like new. My friend was right. Tommy and his crew are great mechanics. I highly recommend them. At least I now know where to go when I have car problems."
"HONEST, STRAIGHT FORWARD, OUTSTANDING SERVICE DURNING AND AFTER THE SERVICE.GREAT TECHS.TOMMY IS SIMPLY THE BEST.HE HAS A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. WOULD AND WILL RECOMMEND HIS SHOP , AND ONLY HIS SHOP TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY."
"I took my car to this shop because of the good reviews it had from others. My transmission had began shifting erratically and jerking my car hard so I needed it repaired. I went through the entire process of describing to Tommy what the issue my car was having. He told me to leave the car for 4 hours and they will check it out. I left the car for them to check and about 4 hours later Tommy calls me back and tells me there is no check engine light on in the car so there is no problem with the actual transmission. However, he identified other things he said I should get fixed which would solve the problem so I went ahead and paid the inflated price of $400 to replace an oil pan gasket and cooling line. My thinking was that if it solves my problem I will be happy. The car still jerked a little bit but not nearly as much so I was fine. However, 6 months later The erractic shifting and jerking came back even stronger. So I took the car back to Tommy so the he could repair the problem, but again no check engine light so he said the transmission is fine but I need a tune up for the car (He said he doesn’t do tune ups). So I took my car to get a tune up, but that didn’t solve the problem. The next day I was taking my son to daycare and the car would start, go into gear but It would not drive. Now my car is not drivable, because when I took my car to this Aamco to get it repaired twice (while it was still drivable)Tommy needed a check engine light to tell him something was wrong before he would work on the car. A mechanic should be able to drive a car and understand something is wrong, but technology has handicapped this profession now to only work on something if a check engine light is on."
"The workers here are so professional and knowledgeable, I have taken my car to so many places that have ripped me off but this place is the best. They're..."
