"Got a free inspection and (ballpark) estimate on the transmission issues i was having on my 2006 Ford Mustang. Although I decided to go a different route Michael was very forthcoming and helpful. I enjoyed a nice personal conversation with him and it is my belief he had my best interests at heart and was not pushing me to make any brash decisions in order to make a sale. Guys like him are invaluable in this field and I'm thankful for his time and genuine concern with my personal life and financial situation."
"I took the car in when a problem occurred and the check engine light came on. After spending $900, got the car back. The next day the check engine light came on and the problem occurred again. The manager asked for a second chance. I brought the car in again. When I got the car back, the check engine light and the problem came up again. Took the car to another place and it was fixed perfectly."
"Brought my car in for a check after my clutch pedal didn't have any pressure. When they called me an hour or so later they told me what they thought the issue was and also told me I needed new brakes and a new clutch - I asked what I owed them and the owner said "For checking it out? Nothing." I told him I would pick it up and bring it to the dealership closer to my home. When I picked up the car he charged me $80. I understand that generally there's a fee for diagnostics - but don't tell me I don't owe you anything. Also, when I brought the car to the dealership they told me I didn't need a new clutch and my brakes were just fine."
"Had to edit my review of this place tonight after a long weekend of stress caused by the actions of AAMCO. The original and only service provided by AAMCO to my truck last month was the replacement of a defective EGR valve and solenoid as well as some front and rear differential seals and diff fluid exchange. For this I was charged over $1200 parts and labor. Here is where the problem began: I was driving up to Show Low from the valley on Thursday 10/11/18. When I was 20 miles south of Payson, I heard a light pop and what sounded like a a serious exhaust leak. I was able to limp the truck into Payson after pulling over and weighing my chances of a fire starting in the engine bay from the exhaust leak. I was fortunate to find the guys at Coyote Auto repair in Payson who traced the leak to a blown out rubber hose on the EGR valve exhaust feeder tube. Apparently, when replacing the EGR valve, the mechanic/s at AAMCO discovered that the original metal feeder tube was not long enough to reach the aftermarket EGR valve. So, they cut the metal tube and connected the two cut pieces with a RUBBER HOSE to extend it. Keep in mind the purpose of the EGR feeder tube is to pipe hot exhaust gasses from the exhaust manifold to the valve. Anyone with common sense should know that 1,000 degree exhaust gasses will blow through a rubber hose. So AAMCO, by doing this, not only cost me $130 to get the feeder tube fixed by competent mechanics, but endangered my life by causing me to break down on the highway, and also the risk of the truck catching fire from hot exhaust gases, possibly causing loss of life. It is unbelievable that they could think this was okay or that they could get away with it."
"The young staff was awesome and under staffed. The young manager was awesome. Polite, courteous and apologize plus never lied"
