Warranties

Warranties are honored Nationwide at all AAMCO centers

Rebuilt Transmission (most vehicles): NOTE: Cars, trucks & vans with a manufacturer's rated capacity of one ton and under receive a 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty. EXCEPTIONS: vehicles with manual transmissions, vehicles over one ton, RV's, police/fire/emergency vehicles, vehicles used as/for rentals, taxis, limousine, snow plowing, commercial towing or "high rail" applications (modified for use on RR tracks). These exception type vehicles receive a 12/12 (US) or 12/20 (Canada) warranty. You can identify the carrying capacity by the VIN. On domestic vehicles, the vehicle is eligible for the 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty if the 6th digit of the VIN is 3 or less.

No reviews yet, be the first!

"They seem nice on the outside but were skilled in dishonesty. They issued non-standard AAMCO warranties and defined them after the purchase in such a manner as to make the warranty nearly worthless. First time I brought it back in under warranty they tried to say installing the transmission only included the mechanical work and not flashing the computer asking for $250 on top of the $3000 I payed to begin with. (They said the $250 was straight-up their cost to bring someone in to do it, no profit. Later, however, when I caught them in some bad math and they tried to explain why the new clutch would cost me $500 (just cost again) they said flashing only cost $210. Which is it or is it neither? We agreed in the final round to a parts and labor warranty on the $500 dollars in new parts I agreed to purchase while they covered labor and another used transmission. When I picked it up after hours I saw that they'd written on the receipt that the warranty only covered parts since they'd covered the labor. This wasn't what we'd agreed to and I couldn't contest it since they were closed. This is the shell game they play with warranties. I thought I was dealing with honest men when took the car in May 7th. Joe was good at conversation, they seemed to know what they were doing and it seemed a better option than the dealer. I finally got my car out with the repairs done (and redone) July 3rd almost two months later and absolutely no warranty in case this last go around fails. I will never go here again. If you really want AAMCO then try the one in Kettering. They have better reviews. Whether you believe me or not don't chance it with these guys. If it works well the first time they'll seem perfectly honest but if something goes wrong and you need them to fix a problem at their expense you'll find that they are crafty, dishonest and good at it. Especially if you have no experience in this area don't play ball with them. They are not honest. If you do, however, I have some tips: - Be wary when they blame the computer. It's an easy out and impossible to check. Same thing goes for them blaming anything else that is either hard to check and or not something they are responsible for. - Only call them with your cell phone and use an app to record the calls. This is perfectly legal in Ohio (a single-party consent state) and allows you to verify that what you remember is, in fact, what was said. - Require detailed explanations of all warranties prior to any purchase and consider that, if the warranty is short, it may serve to do nothing more than allow them to duplicate their original job before the warranty runs out. - Don't be conned by their generally polite demeanor - it's only skin-deep. -- - Ask to talk with the service guy who drove your car. He, perhaps of all of them, was actually honest. He gave me information Joe "wisely" with-held, was honest about the problems and how he was thinking through the troubleshooting process. It wasn't until I talked with him that I was able to get them to admit the transmission they'd given me was bad and so insist that they honor the warranty (minimal as it was). - Better yet - DON'T GO HERE!!"
"bob is awesome i highly recommend his shop for you for any needs for your vehicle!! his builder gary is the best ive seen"
"Very good job so far with transmission"
"Don't take your classic car to this place...I have never posted a rating before, but I wanted to make sure potential customers know my experience. Being in the military, I have had the opportunity to work with multiple shops, but I have never encountered one where my car was "repaired" and came out the same or worse after "repair". Don't take your classic car to this place. Took my '66 Mustang to stop a minor C4 Trans leak. I had to take it back a few times. First time it was "repaired"/seals replaced, my perfect running car developed a rattling sound on acceleration. The car ran fine before I took them in - I know because it was a daily driver for 5 years. It took a few return trips and I had to end up replacing parts to remove the rattle. Worst...it still has few drips of Trans fluid, but I don't plan to go back to let them "repair" it. One positive is they were not rude."
