"I wasn't having success at another company and I called AAMCO to see if they would be able to assist. They had my car towed to their facility and Steven was able to diagnose the problem. He thoroughly explained the issue (in terms that I could understand, as I don't know much about cars) and provided me with 2 options. One was more expensive, but could be done quickly, but had a shorter warranty. The second option was less expensive, but provided for a much longer warranty period. I truly appreciated his honesty and providing me with different options for the repair. Their customer service is excellent and they kept me updated on the progress of the repair. Steven, and the team at AAMCO are now my trusted advisers when it comes to any car repair issues I may have in the future. I highly recommend them!! Thank you very much!!!"
"My car was towed here in February after it broke down when a friend drove it far from home. My initial interaction was pretty decent. Aki was great at communicating with me about the particulars. He said I needed a new transmission, and I had to trust that was true to the tune of $2200. Last month, 5 months after the new transmission was installed, it broke down on the interstate, again far from home. The mechanic told me the transmission had been wired incorrectly, causing two sensors to blow. That was a $600 repair that should not have happened. I emailed to see if the warranty covered this repair, but received no answer. After finding my warranty, it would only have been covered if I had taken it to their shop to be looked at. Since I live downstate, this was not an option."
"After having a tuff time and not passing my emissions test,Steven came to my rescue and handle my business for me.Just exceptional services all over, just saying thank you and see you soon for my oil change."
"Steve is the MAN WITH THE PLAN! Excellent customer service and I always dose a great job on my vehicle."
"Needed my Volkswagen DSG transmission fluid flushed and filter replaced (VW recommends fluid flushed every 40,000 miles to ensure proper operation and to prevent voided warranty on their DSG type transmissions). I came in on a Wednesday afternoon and they couldn't do it cause they claimed they were booked but quoted me between $230-$330, the dealer quoted me $365. I came in the next day at 9:30 AM and they said it would take about 2 hours and had to get the fluid from the dealership, for a company that specializes in transmissions they didn't even have the fluid in stock and had to order it from a VW dealer so that's pretty dumb. I had to leave the car there and loved 7 miles away so I had to walk around and kill time along Western Ave while I waited. The delivery from the dealer took forever, and why not? They're relying on a competitor for their supplies, another dumb business decision. Then they called me to say they had to charge me more because the fluid is expensive which brought the price to $330. It took from 9:30am-3:30pm to simply get the fluid flushed and filter changed. For an extra $35 plus tax save yourself the hassle and a few hours and get it done at the dealer which has the supplies in stock and a mechanic workforce to handle many customers. Not worth taking your VW or Audi for this specialized service in DSG transmissions to AAMCO even though they specialize in transmissions. You could also buy the fluid flush kit online with everything you need between $170-$200 and watch a youtube video on how to do it yourself. Looks pretty easy to do and checked it out while I waited for my car. The fluid is pretty expensive at about $21 per liter of fluid plus tax and shipping. However, if you plan to do it yourself Pentosin makes DSG trans fluid for $18/liter plus tax and shipping, made in Germany and just as good as VW/Audi OEM fluid. They make good oils and fluids for European cars. Hope this helped."
