"Had a *great* experience with these guys in what was an otherwise rather unpleasant car trouble experience (needlessly lost work hours and rental cars). AAA did their bogus battery test two separate times on my car after it wouldn't start, each time telling me a different thing was wrong with it just so they didn't have to replace my battery for free (which was still under warranty). I took my car into AAMCO after I was told I had a bad starter. These guys took one look at it and said, 'yeah, its not the starter -- its your battery that needs to be replaced'. Furious (since this was the third day I had been without a working vehicle), I had a AAA technician come out to the shop to honor the warranty. It wasn't until I literally had to make my case to his manager over the phone that he would even agree to replace it, since he insisted on running the test *again* only to have it "not pass and not fail" -- WHATEVER THAT MEANS! So at this point, at least I had a new battery. I turn the car on fine, but then I pushed the gas and nothing happened - the throttle wasn't working. I asked the technician to restart my system's computer but he said he "didn't have the tools to do that", which is bogus since all he would have had to do was disconnect the battery for like 30 seconds. So with a smile and a "let us know if there's anything else we can do" he promptly left me on my butt with a car that wouldn't drive. Well, I walked straight back into the AAMCO shop and requested they get my car working again. At this point I was frustrated and needed to get to work, so I left it in their hands and left in my rental car. I got a call not too long after from Shon (who was so patient with me - I must have called the shop 15 times) saying they had simply restarted the car's computer system and everything was in fine working order - and that the service was FREE OF CHARGE. I can't express how thankful I was at that moment to know I was taken care of in that way. I'll be sure to go straight to AAMCO the next time I have any car troubles they can fix!"
"Provided a quick and courteous service. Lucky for me they caught an issue that would have left me stranded."
"DO NOT USE THIS SHOP. We had our transmission totally rebuilt at a cost of $4000. in 10/12. 22 months and 8,300 miles later in 8/14 our transmission went out again. When they rebuilt trans. they forgot to put in the Torrington Bearing which is what made the transmission fail this time... Wife was out of town with car. The shop in Pa. was great and wanted to help us, this shop would not even return calls to me or the shop in Pa. Did not expect them to fix for free but should have at the very least offered to help. Owner said out of warranty will not do anything. I paid top dollar to get quality work, Only last for 8,300 miles. My car is in great shape except this. STAY away from this shop, there are many Transmission shops that will do quality work. Do not get stuck like I did The shop in Pa. told me he has done this for years and years and has NEVER had a $4000.00 rebuild. Said he would have done something for us had he done the original work. Original cost for work was way higher then it should have been. No pride in their work, will not stand behind it"
"I paid a lot of money for sub-par work. They rebuild my transmission, something they claim to excellent at, only to have me return it due to not replacing a faulty part. Now, after 2000 miles, it is worse than it was before and they claim to not be able to do anything about it. Do not go here."
"Both the ownership and management of this AAMCO shop have faithfully upheld their end of a lifetime warranty purchased over 10 years ago on my 1968 Mustang named "SALLY". Their service and professionalism is such that without hesitation I'd purchase that same waranty again ! A very satisfied customer . . . Steve Jul2015"
