Rebuilt Transmission (most vehicles): NOTE: Cars, trucks & vans with a manufacturer's rated capacity of one ton and under receive a 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty. EXCEPTIONS: vehicles with manual transmissions, vehicles over one ton, RV's, police/fire/emergency vehicles, vehicles used as/for rentals, taxis, limousine, snow plowing, commercial towing or "high rail" applications (modified for use on RR tracks). These exception type vehicles receive a 12/12 (US) or 12/20 (Canada) warranty. You can identify the carrying capacity by the VIN. On domestic vehicles, the vehicle is eligible for the 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty if the 6th digit of the VIN is 3 or less.

"I have been told in many occasions my car would be ready in a few days. It has been weeks. I call and left messages to check status, I NEVER GET A CALL BACK. Now I call and have to call two to three times where the phone just rings and rings until finally it is answered to push out the it will be ready at a later date. I emailed the owner since this is the 3RD TRANSMISSION REPLACE FROM THEM ALL IN LESS OF A YEAR OF EACH OTHER. I had to cancel a few things I committed myself to do because I was assured I would have the vehicle back by then. Now leaving the impression that I am unreliable. The last one I had to rent a car for the day to actually do it. I do not get a loaner or a rental from them either. This has been the worst from Meineke and AAMCO"
"I took my car to get diagnosed despite many friends and coworkers telling me not to go. Soon after I dropped off my car during my lunch break, I read reviews online saying they were more than likely going to rip me off, they were dishonest, car parts were missing from people who had previously taken their car to them. I immediately realized I did not want them to be in possession of my car. I couldn’t pick up because I was working but had a friend do it for me. When I called to let them know I didn’t want them to look at my car anymore, DAN the incredibly rude and disrespectful man in front hung up on me because I wasn’t giving him my business anymore. They had no idea another person was coming to pick up my car. When my friend arrived they didn’t even ID her, he just gave her the keys. This could have been anyone I am so angry and disappointed with this place and their unprofessional staff. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH TERRIBLE RUDE PEOPLE AND MORE THAN LIKELY YOUR CAR BEING MORE MESSED UP THAN IT WAS BEFORE YOU TOOK IT IN."
"Please save yourself from this: The first transaction was the replacement of our transmission for a 2000 Chevy Silverado around $4K. The second transaction, as we took the truck back cause it was not shifting correctly, was for the ECU. AAMCO's manager, that is no longer there, had stated our problems form the transmission was due to the ECU and the amount spent was $700.00. The third transaction was on July 5th, 2017 for an additional part on the same truck as the transmission was not working correctly and another replacement of the ECU due to a short in the electrical. Again, AAMCO's manager, that is no longer there, stated we needed this part and that amount was $325.00. The transmission continued to not work so I took it back on November 30, 2017, and AAMCO stated they replaced everything again (I have video clips on my cell phone of how the transmission doesn't shift). The transmission continued not to shift past 2nd and could not go into overdrive, again I took the truck back on December 20, 2017, as the TRANS FLUID HOT (have a picture of display on dash) light continued to turn on along with not shifting. AAMCO kept truck several weeks and when we got it back it still doesn't shift. I called the manager, that is no longer there, and stated the truck is not shifting like it is supposed to. The manager stated I could bring it in, so I did on the 19th of March 2018. I called on April 20th at 10:05 am and inquired about the truck as I had not received a call from them in 30 days. Dan, the new manager, stated he didn't know whose truck it was and was trying to get someone to come and pick it up. Dan stated he would look for my paperwork and call me back, he didn't. I called again at 4:08 pm and Dan was not in the shop, left a message with a woman. Dan returned my call same day at 5:24 to let me know there was no documentation of me speaking with the previous manager and that they had lost my truck keys. He stated he would get working on it if I could bring an additional key, I did on the 21st of April as he logged the truck into the system. I called on the 21st of May as another 30 days had past and I heard nothing. Dan stated the truck was next in line and he would call me. On June 7th I called and spoke with Dan he stated the truck was taken apart but not fixed and he would call me. On June 13th Dan called to state there was a gasket needing replacement and it could only be reached while the transmission was out for $275.00, I said okay and they had the transmission out and were replacing it as the 3rd & 4th gear was burnt. I called on June 16th and there was no answer. I called on June 18th and the transmission was fixed but not placed back into the truck, get the same answer for the 21st, 25th of June. On the 28th I was told that the transmission was in but there was an electrical problem and they wanted to verify if it was inside the transmission or out and I would receive a call. I called again on July 29th Dan informed me that he wanted me to authorize a diagnostic test costing $100.00 an hour to last between 30 mins to 3 hours. Dan stated this would tell them where the short was located. He was thinking it was a part next to transmission, not the ECU they installed which started all the electrical shorting. I asked if he could get me a worst case scenario quote so we could make a decision. Dan stated he would call me on Monday the 2nd of July with this information and I didn't receive a call. I called on the 3rd of July and left a detailed message for him to call me back. I still haven't heard anything so I will be calling on the 13th of July. AAMCO has had my truck for 118 DAYS. During this time I have rented a car, taken countless Uber's and now walk to the bus stop to get around. The resolution I want is for them to fix my truck in a timely manner at no additional cost to me. Read more on Yelp."
"Asked for brake work, could have made a good deal of money off of me, but they told me I only need an adjustment. Still 40% good."
"Bought a groupon for front or rear brakes for a christmas present for my teenage daughter whose brakes were making noise. I assumed since her car is very old it would need them. She waited until June to get go to AAMCO in order to get the most life out of her brakes. She spent the day in Puyallup, we live south, and was told they were fine. No mention of honoring the Groupon later (it expires June) or a refund or anything. Then when I called the next day I was told to think of it as we paid for the inspection, and he said many people who bought this groupon didn't end up needing brake work, and no one had a complaint about the money. If you buy anything like this, make sure you have had a FREE inspection 1st from somewhere like Schwab in order to make sure you aren't wasting money on work that is not needed (according to them)"
