Rebuilt Transmission (most vehicles): NOTE: Cars, trucks & vans with a manufacturer's rated capacity of one ton and under receive a 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty. EXCEPTIONS: vehicles with manual transmissions, vehicles over one ton, RV's, police/fire/emergency vehicles, vehicles used as/for rentals, taxis, limousine, snow plowing, commercial towing or "high rail" applications (modified for use on RR tracks). These exception type vehicles receive a 12/12 (US) or 12/20 (Canada) warranty. You can identify the carrying capacity by the VIN. On domestic vehicles, the vehicle is eligible for the 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty if the 6th digit of the VIN is 3 or less.

"I was quoted (initially) $4500 for a repair my car needed. A few days later, I was quoted $4200, but after tax it would come up to $4600. This was AFTER I was told they knocked off $300 on the original quote (so, was supposed to be $4800). After I got a second quote that brought the price down to $3000, I wondered why I was quoted $4500 initially. When I informed Sam (the AAMCO representative I had been dealing with) that I was going to take my business elsewhere because the price was better, he said he could do it for $3000. My issue was that if he could do it for that much this whole time, why was he charging me so much more? I insisted that I was going to take it elsewhere and he slid my keys across the counter to me and said "Just remember, you get what you pay for." in a very condescending tone. To which I thought, he just offered to do it for $3000, does that mean he was going to do a worse job because of it? After the tow truck arrived to move my car, he came to the parking lot and started giving a hard time to the Tow Truck driver. He was rushing him and being very stand-offish. The Tow Truck driver was just doing a job I paid him to do. He should not have been treated with such disrespect. Overall, I would not recommend using this place if you can help it. IF you do, at least make sure you get a second opinion and use that for negotiate yourself a better price."
"It is hard to find honest help at a reasonable price these days. I have a 2011 Ford F150 5.0 with 183,000 miles on it. I recently had my oil changed at a Take 5 Oil Change on Reno and Council near my work. At about 60 miles after the oil change, I lost oil pressure and the check engine light came on. Fearing the worst, I was able to get my truck to this AAMCO location and Richard took care of my vehicle for me. Long story short, the mechanic (Travis) identified that a faulty oil filter installed by Take 5 was the reason for the oil pressure loss. These symptoms could have easily accumulated a bill into the hundreds and/or thousands of dollars at a less honest place of business. I was able to get my issue resolved for less than $55.00 and get reimbursed for my oil change at Take 5 as well. Richard and Travis are great people that provide great customer service!"
"Early Saturday morning, 30th of June. My transmision started slipping back to neutral at 30 mph. Being a mechanical savy, I was pretty sure I was going to dig in my pockets deep. Took it to Aamco because it was the only shop open that I knew was open. Amd of course my fears were correct. I needed a new or rebuilt transmission. I opted for the new tramsmission and asked them to charge the A/C and do an oil change. Being the weekend they had yo wait till monday to order the transmission. Wednesday was the holiday. By Thursday they had my expedition up amd going. Cold A/C for the heat. (Thanks guys!). They knew I didnt have a whole lot of cash so they did the oil change and charged the A/C for free!!! On top of that, when I dropped the car off I had left some money in the console (just like 40 dollars in ones, fives, and a 20). I actually thought I lost it somewhere later Saturday. When I got it back all of my money was in the console. These guys are honest and do great work! I don't think I have ever had a better experience with an automotive shop. They have gained a lifetime customer! Thank you guys so much for your hard work and honesty!"
"Went I n for a transmission repair. We mange to scrape together as much as we could plus we even did 90 same as cash . Got the vehicle back no complaints it was working fine so a good job to those guys on western did a fine job...Now we go in for our checkup. Brakes were grinding pretty bad. They talked me into buying all four tires rottors and ceramic pads you know the ones with lifetime warranty. Well we waited 2 days. And got the van back . I noticed a minor minor squeaking sound when I wo u of a llpy the brakes. No biggie they got to break in right .. Now skip ahead these brakes completely embarrassing loud grinding scraping nails on a chalkboard soundwhen we stop. Ok I take it up there you know told them what was happening. They said ok come back in while so be I t . we come back. He basically calls me my mother my father all liars . the worker stated "there's only a minor squeal that you can barely hear". So nataurraly I got pissed and left . I spent $900 give or take but now im am stuck with the most embarrassing brakes. Shane on you ammco shame on YOU not to mention that somewhere on our vehicle is making that horrific scary metal to metal scraping but nope according to ammco nothings wrong..."
"Screwed me out of 1400 bucks by conveniently not telling us about other problems with the car. Then told us what he did work on, and that he KNEW it wouldn't fix her car after we had come back with problems. Do not ever take your business here."
