Rebuilt Transmission (most vehicles): NOTE: Cars, trucks & vans with a manufacturer's rated capacity of one ton and under receive a 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty. EXCEPTIONS: vehicles with manual transmissions, vehicles over one ton, RV's, police/fire/emergency vehicles, vehicles used as/for rentals, taxis, limousine, snow plowing, commercial towing or "high rail" applications (modified for use on RR tracks). These exception type vehicles receive a 12/12 (US) or 12/20 (Canada) warranty. You can identify the carrying capacity by the VIN. On domestic vehicles, the vehicle is eligible for the 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty if the 6th digit of the VIN is 3 or less.

"My husband decided to drop off his car at this shop because we saw the great reviews. All we needed was a car diagnostic for a 2006 infinity G35. We dropped the car off on a Friday & were notified that the car wouldn’t be ready until that following Monday because the shop is closed on The weekends. We were fine with that. Come Monday the vehicle isn’t ready yet. My husband gives them a call & is told that he will get called back, which he never ended getting a call back. So then I give them a call back around Tuesday or Wednesday to see what’s going on with the vehicle and I’m told that the guy who does diagnostics on Manual vehicles is out and won’t be back until The Monday of the week after. At this point our car has been there for a week already. We are fine with waiting until the following Monday because we needed the diagnostic. Come Monday I call to check if the car diagnostic is complete and the person who picks up just tells me they’ll call me. I make sure to tell them to please make sure they call me as soon as they have any information. We then wait until Thursday of that week. At this point my husband is already upset because it’s been just close to two whole weeks. In what world does a car diagnostic take TWO WEEKS?! We go to the shop to ask for the car back and let them know that we are not going to pay the full price because we did not receive the service that was promised to us in the time frame that it was promised. They tried to make a point as to how they supposedly contacted us & kept us updated with details on the car. They claimed to have called my husband & they were calling the wrong number. They claimed to have left voicemails to my phone which I definitely never received. Then they claimed I never called them that last Monday to check on the car. They went to the back to check on the calls to verify I had actually called. I waited and thankfully a guy came out to give me the key without any arguments on payment anymore. I personally hate arguing but I absolutely did not understand why we had to pay for a service we did not receive as promised. I hope other people don’t fall for the good reviews or I hope you don’t go through what we went."
"Had my transmission serviced three months ago (April 2018) with AAMCO Transmission on Annapolis Road in Lanham, MD. The Store Manager, Nick was very professional and was able to diagnose my car's issue right away. I needed to have the belt replaced on my transmission. The cost to replace it was $2400 dollars. It took me three weeks to get my car back due to factory parts had to be ordered from the dealerships factory. They worked with me on the down payment to start working on the car. My car is running fine. I have not had any issues with it since replacing the belt. The good thing about this, is that the AAMCO Transmission business is right around the corner from my house. I was able to walk to the business to pick up my car. Thanks Nick for your help."
"Don't waste your time! If I could rate 0 for this place I would.My vehicle was dropped off 9:00 a.m. for diagnosis. I was told that after the observation was done I would be getting a call. 5:30p.m. rolls around and still no call. I called to see what the hold up was.I was asked...what were my concerns and what was the problem with my vehicle 🙄 Ummm sir you tell me. Your the mechanic. Apparently there's a problem if my check engine light came on and my truck shifts roughly.He only repeated what I reported that the truck was doing. He proceeded to tell me that I had metal shaving in my transmission which I know for a fact that all transmission have metal shaving in it, it all depends on the amount in which he wasn't clear on. He said that my transmission needs to be rebuilt and the cost would be 3300. My truck was idled high and he couldn't even tell me why smh. Charged me 125 just to read back to me what I stated was wrong. I picked my truck up and took it to another shop and guess what, all it needed was a idle control valve,not a transmission rebuild. This place was ready to RIP ME OFF!!Hundreds of dollars. The mere fact that i waited all day for a call that never happened and I had to call them speaks Volume. Then had the nerve to ask me once I called what the problem was? NEVER AGAIN!!"
"Great experience. Great people. Even better work. This is my second time here and it was no different than the first. In 2006 I brought my Mercury in to have the transmission repaired. The even fixed my mounting bracket free of charge. It still works. I have bought a second car and it is having the same problem as the first. I have no doubt that once they're finished it will last just as long. Thank you guys for a job well done. 12 years and still running flawlessly."
"I had my vehicle towed to this specific location on May 2, 2018. Here it is June 29, 2018 and I still don't have my vehicle back. The work order was for valve cover, timing chain and cover, head gasket, pan gasket, oil filter housing ( I believe I've cover everything from the copy of the work order I have). The water pump was an issue that needed to be fixed in the middle of them doing their job on what was initially agreed upon. And I have my opinions about that. I'll admit I know very little about vehicles and the maintenance of a vehicle, so I consulted with my father to see if the price and needed work were sensible to complete. I proceeded with signing the paperwork and was given the total of how much it would cost. Within the first 2 weeks, I was under the impression that my vehicle was being work on but THEY DIDN'T START ANY WORK FOR 2 WHOLE WEEKS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT COMMUNICATE WITH ME, THE PERSON WHO WAS PAYING FOR THE WORK AND THE PERSON WHO DROPPED THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE, THAT A DEPOSIT WAS NEEDED BEFORE WORK WAS STARTED. The ONLY reason why I knew my truck was just sitting at their shop untouched was because my father check-in with them and Nick told my father he was waiting on the deposit. NOT ONCE did Nick explain that process to me when I signed the paperwork. The business had both home phone number and cell phone number and from May 4, 2018 until May 17, 2018 I didn't receive 1 call from AAMCO. Nick's response was well we've been talking with your father. Regardless if you've been speaking with every member of my family, I'm the primary customer who brought the vehicle to you for service, I'm the customer who signed my name of the paper agreeing to pay you for the services I need completed. My father didn't sign the agreement with you so he's not obligated to pay you. The next complaint I have with Nick, who is suppose to be the manager is the fact that he said I didn't answer my phone that is why he stopped calling me and was only calling my father. On May 4, 2018 when I noticed that I missed their call, I returned the phone call that same day within their business hours. The very next call I received from Nick was on May 17, 2018 and I returned that call the same day within business hours. After May 17, 2018 I didn't receive another call from Nick or his employees until May 31, 2018. At this point I explained to my father they were saying something else was wrong with my vehicle but my father said he was handling it so I let it because I was still furious that my vehicle sat for 2 weeks and at the fact that it takes 10-14 days before anyone calls with an update as to what's going on. Any and every call I received from Nick or his employees had a span of 10-14 days, no detailed messages left. Although my father advised that he was handling the situation, I would still sporadically check on the status of my vehicle and every time I called I was told "oh we're waiting on this one part from the dealership but everything else is in and completed." For the past 3 weeks, the shop has been giving me the same commentary about this one part. My father ordered the part but the mechanic said it was defective so my father returned it and allowed the shop to order the part themselves. It wasn't until June 28, 2018 that J.R. I presume as one of the mechanics that the dealership sent them the wrong size of the part needed (time sprocket), although J.R. told me they gave the dealership the exact make and model of my vehicle. I may not be a mechanic but shouldn't parts have a name/ model/ serial number or something to help narrow what is needed. I was informed that once the wrong part came from the dealership it was sent back and another time sprocket was sent. IT WAS STILL THE WRONG SIZE FOR MY VEHICLE. I was told that they sent this time sprocket back 3-4 times before J.R. decided to TRACE the part on a sheet of paper and fax it to the dealership. When I went to the shop I was able to clear see numbers what looked like a model or serial number engraved on the part that was needed. (CONT'D)"
