Rebuilt Transmission (most vehicles): NOTE: Cars, trucks & vans with a manufacturer's rated capacity of one ton and under receive a 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty. EXCEPTIONS: vehicles with manual transmissions, vehicles over one ton, RV's, police/fire/emergency vehicles, vehicles used as/for rentals, taxis, limousine, snow plowing, commercial towing or "high rail" applications (modified for use on RR tracks). These exception type vehicles receive a 12/12 (US) or 12/20 (Canada) warranty. You can identify the carrying capacity by the VIN. On domestic vehicles, the vehicle is eligible for the 36/50 (US) or 36/80 (Canada) warranty if the 6th digit of the VIN is 3 or less.

"I don't even know where to start. My Duramax was having some transmission problems and Merchants told me Ammco down the road worked on trannys, to take it to them. I talked to George over there, he was really polite and "seemed" helpful. They called me the next day and told me what was wrong and quoted a price, they told me it might be a few days before they touch my vehicle seeing it was a Friday. A few days go by and I call Ammco seeing how I haven't heard from them yet, I talked to the lady they have at the front desk and she would tell me they were busy or out of the shop, but she would have them call me. finally after a week of calling and playing this phone game she got me on the phone and a different mechanic they said they replaced what they thought they needed to replace but they think it's the transmission control module that has gone bad, they said they had a used one they were going to try to get a hold of and install it on my truck, That it would be cheaper than buying a new one. I was a little annoyed they didn't call me before making the executive decision or to even let me know what was going on with my truck. I was going out of town for 10 days and when I got back I called Amco seeing how again they have yet to call me or inform me on anything, I was expecting the used transmission control module be installed in my truck be ready to picked up. No, they hadn't got the used one and we're going to order a new one. They were waiting for me to call they didn't call me to let me know this, instead of calling me, they were just wasting my time. I told him OK go ahead and order a new one. A few days go by again haven't heard a thing, so I called them again saying how I hadn't heard from them, they told me they weren't able to get a new one that I would have to order a refurbished one on my own and then they would take the truck to the Chevrolet dealership and have it programmed and then they would install it. After my truck being in their shop for about a month and having awful customer service and no feedback from the shop whatsoever, I was fed up. I decided I was going to order the part myself and take it to Chevy and have them program it and install it for half the price the Ammco was going to charge me. When I went to pick up my still BROKEN truck from Ammco they tried to charge me $400 for parts and $500 for labor. I was livid, I understand they did do a little bit of work and it order some parts so I was fine with paying for the parts and some of the labor but not $500. I talked to the owner who was not helpful or polite at all, and he did not seem to want to budge he kept telling me "we don't work like that" finally I told him I'm not paying. He told me that George would be in the next day and he would discuss it with him seeing how he was the mechanic. I got there the next day and waited in the lobby for about an hour Until they decided to see me. Finally the owner and George discussed the issue and told me they they would only charge me $250 for the labor instead of $500. I was still upset but I took it figuring it's better than nothing. Now my truck is popping up two more codes on the tranny that Ammco refuses to cover even though I'm under warranty, because they say they didn't work on that part of the transmission, and then it's wiring they go bad all the time there wasn't their fault. If I could give negative stars I would I will never go back to another Ammco, I do not recommend this shop to anyone, they just wasted your time and don't fix your vehicle, your better off going someplace else."

"Horrible experience DO NOT waste your time. Customer service was absolutely horrible. Had no idea what they were talking about. I was told they'd look at my car the day they dropped it off and should get a call in a day or two. No call, I called them and they STILL hadn't looked at the car. And after waiting another day..... I got the car back to where I started. Already knowing something was wrong with it. They have no idea what they're talking about I was constantly interrupted on the phone and treated absolutely horrible. They're rude and no solution was offered to fix the problems. Not to mention we addressed multiple concerns and none of which were addressed but one and they couldn't figure it out. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!"
