"I had service work done a couple of months ago. I had them put in a transmission cooler and also do a full trans flush. Everthing was fine until I took a trip north for our move out of state. The transmission overheated on me on a Saturday evening with no shops to check it. I ended up having to stay two nights in a hotel to have it checked at a Toyota dealer when they opened on a Monday. They found the transmission was ovefilled by at least 7.5 qts. It of course leaked out a lot more since the bottom of the vehicle was covered in trans fluid. I wrote a certified letter to the AAMCO shop asking for refund for the flush and reimbursement for my expenses in late June. Have not had a phone call let alone a letter to reply to my request. I took it to AAMCO since they are a TRANSMISSION shop. You would think they would be able to check the fluid level properly after installing the cooler and doing the flush. I cannot recommend this shop based on my personal experience. Update: I sent two emails to the email address you provided Tim. Still waiting in your reply to the documents I submitted."
"I went to west St. Aamco because my transmission was acting up and immediately they said I need a new transmission. Of course I believed them. So I had them redo the transmission for over $3,000. I picked up my vehicle drove it out of there and it was doing the same thing. I called right away and said it was doing the same thing. I told them I would bring it back tomorrow. I got a call after that saying that I owe them more money because apparently they gave me the wrong bill so I had to pay more. I took it back the next day they looked at it and said it was two other problems but they couldn't fix it . They should have known what the problems were from the get-go and had them fixed before they give me my van back. I recently spoke to another company about what was wrong and was told that it could have been repaired instead of replacing it. I do not recommend going to the West Street Aamco."
"Best customer service I have ever received from a business in Annapolis. They treated me promptly and courteously. Even though they were not able to service my car, they assisted with diagnosing the problem and even referred me to a place who could fix the issues. They drove me to a rental car place to see if I could have a replacement vehicle while my car was being service. They did all of this free of charge and with a smile! I would recommend this place to everyone. Thanks Aamco Annapolis. I will definitely be back."
"I've been a customer of AAMCO in Annapolis on West St. for over a year. In that time, they've helped me troubleshoot and repair an ECM for the car and a handful of other problems. I have been deeply impressed with the courtesy and casual competency expressed by the owners/operators and the mechanics at all times. Great people and I would happily recommend to others."
"My husband & I were in the Annapolis area when our vehicle quit do to "internal transmission failure" per the dealership where we had vehicle towed. We were told that it would cost $9,500 to put in a transmission. The cost for repair was more than the value of said car. I phoned AAMCO & spoke w/ a gentleman named George who was extremely nice & efficient. I explained said situation to him & he advised me that he would call me back w/ price of replacing said transmission. George called back w/in 2 hours w/ quote of how much it would cost to replace. The cost was definitely better than the initial quote. Fortunately for us the dealership replaced transmission for free! I am simply rating this company do to the conversation w/ George. He was professional, honest,& down right nice. I felt it is important to pass on information that is positive towards a mechanics reputation. If I lived in the area (I'm 5 hours away) I would definitely give AAMCO m;y business. Thanks for assisting me during a stressful situation. Kudos to George!"
